Ghanaian Institute of Welding, GIW
The Ghanaian Institute of Welding is a non-governmental organization and non-profit organization dedicated to promote welding technology and allied joining technologies towards building the nation Ghana. The organization envisages to be the main domestic body by which innovation, welding technology and other joining technologies could be promoted in Ghana.
The mission statement of the organization is to contribute to the welfare and sustainable development and competitiveness of Ghana through the application of welding technology and allied joining technologies.
In order to support the afore-mentioned vision and mission statement, it is therefore a goal of the organization to create an effective and vibrate framework that would connect the Ghanaian metal industry and institutions to form a well-defined Welding Industry.
The operations of the organization is, however, based on its clearly-defined objectives including:
creating the platform for education, training, international qualification and certification of personnel involved in welding technology and allied technologies; and providing the means for transfer of knowledge related to welding technology and allied joining technologies through the exchange of scientific and technical information.
